VU Polytechnic, together with WomenCan Australia are supporting women to learn new skills and find paid employment through The Placement Circle Pilot Program.
Through this program, starting on 28 October 2020, you can train to become a care worker by undertaking the Certificate III in Individual Support (CHC33015) at VU Polytechnic with access to peer support and industry placements. This course can be completed in just seven months.
Research shows that women are increasingly at risk of homelessness and financial hardship as they get older. Women from diverse backgrounds are often excluded from the workforce due to caring responsibilities, time out of the workforce and being unable to find suitable work for their existing skills.
How it works
When you join the pilot program, you will become a member of The Placement Circle. This is a free membership for all women, where every participant helps other women to succeed. You will have women to help you with your studies and return to work, and then you’ll help the next round of women with their journey.
