VU Polytechnic joined in the celebration of Melbourne’s rich and vibrant cultural traditions at the Victoria Multicultural Festival held at Federation Square on Saturday 23 February.
The state’s premier multicultural festival featured music, performances, food and art which catered to all ages. The one-day festival, sponsored by Victoria University, concluded a week of events celebrating Victoria’s Cultural Diversity Week for 2019.
The festival aligns with the University’s Cultural Diversity Strategy and enabled promotion of the university as a proudly culturally-inclusive environment.
The event provided an opportunity for VU Polytechnic to engage one-on-one with multicultural Victorians, with staff and students showcasing our wide range of TAFE courses. Visitors to the VU Polytechnic display were offered information on Free TAFE for Priority Courses, the Western Melbourne English Program and the VicPol Recruit Ready preparation course.
VU embraces cultural difference and our students and staff represents over 90 different cultures and speak over 200 different languages.
