Women Onsite have partnered with Victoria University Polytechnic to deliver a free, one day ‘Try a Trade’ program to provide aspiring tradeswomen with practical experience across three types of trades.
During the day you will participate in three hands-on taster workshops to learn more about the trades industry and network with our attending female carpenter, electrician and plumber. You will also have the opportunity to chat to the team about the Women Onsite program, next steps and opportunities.
Workshops for the day include:
- Electrotechnology: you will assemble a drone and learn electrical wiring and circuitry skills that qualified electricians use everyday
- Plumbing: you will assemble a pipe system and complete a pressure test to see how pipes systems are built and operated in plumbing systems
- Cabinet making: you will construct a wooden pencil case using the tools that carpenters and cabinet makers use regularly on the job.
