English & preparation programs

To keep the VU Polytechnic community safe, and to play our part in containing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made changes to how we deliver our courses. Most VU Polytechnic students will have access to supported remote learning from April, meaning you can continue to study the same high-quality program from home.

Do you need support to gain access to study and work opportunities? We offer tailored training programs for young people, mature-age students, Indigenous Australians, migrants, refugees and students with special needs. Our programs will prepare you to transition into employment or further study. We offer pathways into courses across the Polytechnic and into higher education degrees.

We are one of the largest providers of English as an Additional Language (EAL) education in Victoria and have a proud history of helping international students, migrants and refugees achieve success in study, work and community integration.

Refugee Innocent Karabagega has followed a pathway from transition education to Bachelor of Laws.

“All of my achievements are because of the support I received during my study – the teachers listened to me and transformed me into a better person who can serve other people, especially those who seek refuge in other countries.”
