Early childhood & education support

To keep the VU Polytechnic community safe, and to play our part in containing the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made changes to how we deliver our courses. Most VU Polytechnic students will have access to supported remote learning from April, meaning you can continue to study the same high-quality program from home.

There are endless opportunities for careers in the early childhood and education service industries, and with a qualification from Victoria University Polytechnic you’ll be equipped to put theory into practice from day one.

Our graduates work in a range of education settings, including public schools, independent schools, and community services and education programs.

We place a strong emphasis on real-world learning, which means you’ll complete extensive workplace training, interacting with young people and staff. The practical children’s services lab at Werribee campus further encourages hands-on learning in a simulated early childhood environment.

Justen's success story

Justen Petch gardening with a young child who looks happy.
“In 2018 I decided to pursue my other passion than acting – teaching – and enrolled in the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care at VU Polytechnic. Following that, I immediately enrolled in the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.

"I chose VU Polytechnic because of the great reputation it has among my peers and the close proximity of the campuses to where I live. I’ve found the learning environment remarkably supportive and the teachers were excellent. Without the training I received at VU Polytechnic I may be in a very different place indeed.”
