VU Polytechnic held workshops with KOTO (Know One, Teach One), a non-profit social enterprise that empowers at-risk and disadvantaged youth held in Vietnam. Students were able to exercise their skills in French based cuisines and technique, while utilising seasonal ingredients sourced in Vietnam.

After dropping out of high school, Caroline Edmunds took on the responsibility of completing VCE at VU Polytechnic and continued pursuit of exploring her interests in business to go onto further study at VU. She is now the Social Media Manager for Thinktank Social agency and is endlessly engaged with the wide-ranging and expansive number of brands and businesses she manages.

VU Polytechnic received top honours at Hair & Beauty Industry Association (HBIA) Awards, held on 11 November 2019. The awards reward and celebrate students, apprentices and teachers for excellence and passion in the industry.

Brimbank Council engaged Hatch Studio MetroWest to design a logo for their new action group, Impact Brimbank, whose aim is to improve community members’ health and wellbeing. The successful design was created by a Diploma of Graphic Design student Jackson Coates.

Hamed Allahyari arrived in Australia as an asylum seeker and completed his course in English as an Additional Language at VU Polytechnic. Hamed now runs a social enterprise café, Cafe Sunshine & SalamaTea, offering employment to asylum seekers and refugees.
